July 11th 1975 Fleetwood Mac started a new chapter with the addition of Linsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks with their new self titled album. Lineup changes are good in some cases… bad in others. Here’s a couple of the bad ones.
Motley Crue with John Corabi. Lead singer Vince Neil wasn’t getting along with the band so they hired Corabi to sing. Not a great decision, but “Uncle Jack” is my favorite Motley Crue song.
Motley Crue "Uncle Jack"
Another bad singer change is Van Halen with Gary Cherone on vocals. They struck out with Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth and a lot of people bought Van Halen 3 knowing full well it was going to be awful.
Van Halen "Without You"
There weren't too many people enjoying Red Hot Chili Peppers with Dave Navarro on guitar. There was only one widely praised song on One Hot Minute and it's below. Dave isn’t a bad guitar player, he’s really one of the greats, but he didn’t fit with Flea and Chad Smith on the drums.
Red Hot Chili Peppers "My Friends"
Judas Priest didn't fare well with Tim "Ripper" Owens on the microphone, but at least we got a Mark Wahlberg movie out of it. Amiright?!
Judas Priest "Bloodsuckers"
